These terms govern your use of Vestrybooks ("the service"). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. Please read them alongside our privacy policy.

Who can use Vestrybooks

You must be authorized to act on behalf of your church or organization and be able to form a binding agreement. You're responsible for your account, for keeping your login secure, and for everyone you invite.

The service

Vestrybooks provides church accounting, donor management, year-end giving statements, and online giving. We process payments through Stripe; we never take a platform cut of your church's gifts. We may improve, change, or add features over time.

Your responsibilities

• Provide accurate information and keep your account details current.
• Use the service lawfully and only for legitimate church/organization administration.
• You are responsible for the accuracy of the financial data you enter and for your own tax and reporting obligations. Vestrybooks is software, not a substitute for professional accounting or tax advice.
• Don't misuse the service: no fraud, money laundering, unauthorized access, scraping, reverse engineering, or attempts to disrupt the service.

Plans, billing & cancellation

• Paid plans (Core and Plus) are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis through Stripe. Free accounts are free.
• Paid subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel anytime from your billing settings; access continues through the end of the period you've paid for.
• See our refund policy for refunds and downgrades. Your data remains yours and exportable even on the free plan.

Your data

Your church's data belongs to your church. We process it as described in the privacy policy, and you can export it at any time. We act as a processor of donor information on your behalf.

Intellectual property

Vestrybooks and its software, design, and content are owned by us. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service while your account is in good standing.

Disclaimers & limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties and are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so parts of this may not apply to you.

Suspension & termination

You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or create risk for the service or other users; where reasonable we'll give notice and a chance to export your data.

Changes & governing law

We may update these terms; material changes will be communicated and the "last updated" date revised. These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Vestrybooks is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
